Measuring elastic and non-elastic netting isn't a perfect science giving the materials inherent flexibility. We measure barrier netting width by counting the number of 1 inch openings. I.E. the 8" x 12" Barrier Net width will have either (7) or (8) 1" openings but never (9) depending on the cut. Length (running foot) is measured while the netting material is in a "relaxed" state. Our published sizes are based on the netting in it's optimal stretched state when it's installed.

Barrier nets are designed to hang stretched providing both structure and support for items placed behind them. This sample demonstrates the amount of deflection designed into a 8" x 24" net. Deflection will be less or more depending on the size of the net and the number of attaching points.
Note that changing the height and the width while retaining the same approximate area results in the same deflection (stretching of the net mounted). In addition, barrier netting doesn't have to be mount at right angles. Barrier nets can be from 3 to as many sides (attaching points) as desired.
For larger openings in a coach Barrier Stretch Nets work well for adding substantial cargo space where it is needed most. Barrier Stretch Nets keep items from falling from the tops of cabinets and can be used in larger openings where cabinet doors have not been provided.

In addition to providing “barriers”, these nets can be mounted flush on flat surfaces to hold items down and keep them from bouncing while on the road. This application is most ideal for storage compartments on the underside of the RV.
You can also mount barrier nets flat to any open wall space to create “pinch” storage where the net would hold items to the wall. For instance; use a barrier net on the wall of your storage pass through to hold items like bag chairs.
